A tradition of quality and a heritage of technique. One hundred percent, virgin lambswool from New Zealand and sustainably grown silk. Hand knotted by master craftsmen in rural India. An intense hand process with a square inch of rug containing one hundred and fifty knots of yarn. A single rug takes up to four months to complete.
The density of the rug allows the surface to be meticulously hand carved to enhance and reveal the flow and sheen of the weave. The surface becoming subtly redolent of the carved, tooled and embossed leather that recurs frequently in her work.
