Taking inspiration from the delicate ceramic work of William de Morgan. Fanflower, with Genevieve’s signature of contemporary restrain, becomes a beautiful, graphic statement. A definition of her ability to reference historic source with simple modern elegance.
Genevieve was commissioned by Knoll International to design a screen for their prestigious London. Knoll have a formidable design heritage. They work with some of the 20th and 21st centuries greatest creative names. Mies Van Der Rohe, Eero Saarinen and David Adjaye are just some whose furniture is in their hallowed studio. A daunting challenge for any designer.
A sublime dark grey saddle leather was used to clad the bespoke engineered screen. The leather was subtly engraved. Seeing the finished piece sitting in elegant harmony alongside such illustrious classic pieces is deep testament to Genevieve’s creative value.
As with all of Genevieve’s work, there is the freedom to explore any of the 26, exquisite, colours. Similarly, any of her patterns can be incorporated. This creative approach means that the result is not a generic product but a unique and covetable object.
